SmartCAE Lane Profiles

... helps you to get a realistic understanding of the ambient temperatures along a given shipping lane. These ambient temperatures depend on the location, seasonality, time of day, and more. Will your shipping system face direct sunshine? Will it be put in a warehouse throughout the shipping lane? What ambient temperatures can you expect on your entire shipping lane?

The SmartCAE Lane Profiles creates ATPs for your entire shipping lane and are based on the different locations, flight times, temperature-controlled spaces, and more. The outside temperatures are provided by recorded data of weather stations from all over the world. Analyze worst case scenarios, effects from seasonality and get a data-based feeling of the real ambient temperature conditions.

How it works

STEP I

Define the Shipping Lane

What is the start and destination of your shipping lane? Are there any stops on the way? What will happen during the stopovers, will your package face the hot tarmac or rather a nicely cold warehouse?

Define the shipping lane by setting locations and durations of stay and transport. Add an optional direct solar irradiance for locations like e.g. TARMAC.

STEP II

Import Historical Ambient Profiles

Historical data from the weather stations nearest to the defined lane will be downloaded. These recordings reach from decades ago up to the present day. They have a time resolution of down to 15 minutes between two recordings, mostly seen at weather stations located at airports. Your lane profiles will therefore be based on a huge amount of real-life information.

When generating the historical ambient profiles, you can choose between different settings. You can either look at the daily temperature profiles of the past years for your given lane. Or, you can filter monthly worst cases, general minimum and maximum temperatures, select specific months, and more.
