License Transfer

To transfer a SmartCAE license from one PC to another, please perform the following steps:

  1. Note your license number
  2. Uninstall SmartCAE software on old PC
  3. Uninstall Wolfram CDF Player software on old PC
  4. Email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for license transfer key
  5. Install SmartCAE software on new PC

Step 3: Uninstall Wolfram CDF Player

Uninstall the Wolfram CDF Player software on the old PC. You can do that
  • with a right click on the Player icon in the Windows start menu entry, or
  • via "Control Panel" -> "Programs" -> "Programs and Features".

You might need administration privileges for the uninstall, so you might need support form your IT department. You can find further information here. 

Step 4: Request License Transfer

  • After uninstall is finished, send a short email to us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., and include the license number you want to transfer from step 1.
  • We will execute the license transfer. This automatic process will typically take only a few minutes.
  • On completion, we will send you an email with your new activation key.

Step 5: Install SmartCAE on new PC

Install SmartCAE on the new PC, following the regular installation instructions:
  • Install the Wolfram CDF Player on the new computer.
  • Activate the Wolfram CDF Player as Player Pro with the new activation you received in step 4.
  • Install the current SmartCAE software.
